STEP #1 - Establishing Your Attraction Channel

With different social media channels being available it could be confusing what type of social media channel for you to pick to start growing your digital product business.

I found that the best way to go about it is to combine 2 channels.

One channel for fast growth and another channel for building trust.

Here are my best combinations for you to get started:

  • Instagram reels + Twitter

  • Instagram reels + YouTube

  • Instagram reels + Newsletter

  • YouTube + Twitter (Hard-mode)

  • Twitter + Newsletter (Hard-mode)

  • YouTube + Newsletter (Medium mode)

As you can see I used Instagram reels for the majority of the time because I found them to be a really strong catalyst when trying to grow your presence.

In my own process, my combination is;

  • Instagram reels + Newsletter

The reason for my combination is that I can recreate trending videos (which I like doing - traveling, scouting places, filming, etc) and then see if one video could go viral and bring in a ton of new eyeballs for the brand.

STEP #2 - Start Niched And Go Broad

Choosing your niche could be a really overwhelming process but there’s a way you can hack the process.

That is why I created the 3-Step Niche To Broad Hack cheat sheet which is going to teach you how to choose the best niche for yourself when starting your brand to sell Digital Products:

  1. Write down what is the START + END GOAL of your business - This helps you know what are the unwanted things you can help people solve and what are the things you want them to achieve as end outcome.

  1. Combine your STYLE + TRENDS with your end goal - This keeps you on track and going in the direction you want for yourself, your audience, and your business.


STEP 3: Grow Your Audience

When you have no audience it’s going to be really hard to sell any Digital Products therefore producing content is crucial.

You have to put out content to build a ā€œLike & Trustā€ factor to grow your brand first before you can start promoting something…

Remember the key is: ā€œPeople Buy From Peopleā€

Every transaction is trust based at a certain level.

STEP #4: Designing & Building A Lead magnet

Once you build up some audience it’s time for you to build out a free product that is popular and in a bite-size easy-to-digest informative format.

Here are some examples of free products that you can create:

  • E-book (20 - 50 pages - having a clear actionable outline)

  • Mini Course (7 - 20 videos - max 2 hours long)

  • Notion Template (simple or intermediate level - not advanced)

  • Preset (simple color scheme - or bundle)

  • Webinar (15 - 20 minute long - actionable training)

STEP #5: Launch Your Lead magnet

Here is the process for launching your free lead magnet:

  1. Create a free product & host it on Gumroad.

  2. Prepare the landing page for that free product (Just using gumroad).

  3. Put out a story on Instagram saying that you giving away access to your free product to a limited number of people & all they have to do to get it is to reply.

  4. Start sending out your free product to everyone who replied to your story.

  5. Keep doing this 2-3 times per week and keep building out your list.

TIP: this process at first you want to do this manually to understand how people engage with your stories and what is the reply rate but once you get the hang of it you can fully automate it using a tool called Manychat (but more on that in another guide)

STEP #6: Launch, Collect Leads, And Sell

Now once you have a free product in place, keep growing your audience on the platform you choose and driving people into that free product & growing your email list.

Here are your action steps:

  1. Double down on what worked. Check what type of content performed the best for you and double down on making similar type content, that is the best way to grow your social media page. The trick I like to use is to take content that worked for me the best and remake the same piece of content 10-20 times with different frameworks.

  2. Share your free product 2-3 times per week with your audience. It is vital to consistently remind your audience about your free product and actively drive traffic toward it. By maintaining a proactive approach, you can maximize the exposure and impact of your free product.

Executing this process will allow you to build out your email list of people who really enjoying your free product.

Based on demands you will be able to know what people gravitate the most to and the you It’s time for you to build out a paid product and start making money because of the proven demand for it.

Here is your process:

  • Don’t reinvent the wheel (There is no need for you to create something completely new, if people already wanted your free product and got good results with it, they’ll want a paid product as well.

  • Build a community channel (I highly recommend building out your community channel, where your paid members will be hanging out and can ask you questions. You can use a platform like Discord for that)

  • Host your product. After creating your paid product, the next step is to make it available for purchase online. You can use platforms like Gumroad, Kajabi & Podia to do that.

  • Market your product (I’ll explain the best marketing strategy for your paid product in the last step below; ā€œThe 80/20 rule of businessā€)

STEP #7: The 80/20 Rule Of Business

Here is the best strategy to market your paid products and not piss off your audience & generate sales consistently and beat your competition.

The 80/20 Rule Playbook:

  • Spend 80% of your time providing value & giving. (Keep giving your free product, keep making more free products and just sharing them with your audience, and keep creating great valuable content)

  • Then spend 20% of your time actually promoting (Once you are done with the other 80% now it’s time for you to promote your paid product. This could look like this:

    • You send out 3 valuable emails & then the 4th one is a direct promotion for your paid product.

    • You put out 5 valuable posts and then the 6th one is a promotion for your paid product.

    • You put out 4 valuable stories and then the 5th one is a promotion for your paid product.
