Position Yourself In Their Best Interest

After doing the workshop last week, I noticed that business has been slow for lots of coaches and consultants lately.

Even my digital nomads comrades have gone in hiding lol.

And it's not their skillset that's keeping them stuck.

It's their perspective.

It’s like summer sadness.

When it happens people easily become aggressive.

They call people names.

They assume malice.

They find themselves getting angry and frustrated at small things.

But how come I know this?

Well because the pressure of the season is so much that it activates a fight-or-flight response in most. And entrepreneurs usually choose fight.

But to fight they need an enemy.

So they start making their own followers, prospects and clients the enemy.

(there might be exception of course just like what happened to past days)

But deep down they believe they're trying to hurt them. That they're just "broke" or tire kickers trying to squeeze everything they can from them.

Believing this is like hustling 24/7 for 365 days a year when your determined to make it happen. It may give some benefit financial wise or material but it will burn you out badly in the long run if you keep living that lifestyle.

​We have to put ourselves in their shoes — Life happens to all of us.

You have to understand that the same thing that's happening to you is happening to them.

(Maybe in a greater degree because they may be in a tighter financial or emotional situation than you.)

So when they take forever to make decisions or want to cancel...

It's not that they're hurting you.

It's just that they're hurting, period.

They have so much pain that they make erratic decisions that they think will benefit them.

People will always act according to their best interest.

And it may be in their best interest to buy your stuff / join your program...

But it's going to be much harder to convince them if deep down you believe that they're trying to hurt you.

They're not hurting you.

They're just hurting.

And only when you make that shift will you be able to position your stuff as something in their best interest.

There's times when what needs to grow the most isn't your business.

Sometimes it's you who needs to grow before the business does.

The bottleneck isn't a "tactic".

It's an emotional or spiritual level that you haven't unlocked yet.
