HOW TO SET SYSTEMS INSTEAD OF GOALS (A System To Change Your Life)
Most people dream, a lot set goals, and everyone has habits, but almost no one has a system.
Setting goals is one thing, but maintaining focus throughout the year is another.
In this guide, we're going to break down how to go from your dreams to SMART goals to creating a system of habits that will help you achieve those goals.
So, grab coffee, a pen and have your notebook ready, and let's dive because I’m about to show you how we can do this together.
Let’s get started 👇👇👇
WHY NOT JUST SET GOALS
Before we delve into setting up the system, let's talk about goals. SMART goals are widely known, but they have their limitations.
One major issue is that actionable and time-bound elements are often treated as separate entities. However, they need to be married together because simply having a deadline isn't enough.

Additionally, SMART goals lack a system to sustain progress over time. As James Clear clearly puts it:
"You don't rise to the level of your goals; you fall to the level of your systems." James Clear
Above the SMART goals lies your dream life—a vision of your ideal future. Neglecting this dream can lead to achieving goals that don't fulfill you. So, we need to prioritize our dreams alongside our goals.
At the bottom of the mountain are your habits, the daily actions that propel you forward. These habits, when strung together effectively, form your system, the engine driving your progress at each level - there requirements are what will help you lead any goal into completion.

Now, let's break down how to design your life system.
Start by envisioning your BIG Dream lifestyle 2 years from now. Write down every detail without judgment or overthinking.
Then, identify the top ten priorities that we’ll turn into a goals to be your stepping stone to achieve your BIG Dream.
These become your long-term goals. Remember, we often underestimate what we can achieve in 2 years.

Next, chunk these long-term goals into quarterly milestones, then further into monthly and weekly objectives. This process ensures that your goals are not overwhelming and gives you clear, actionable steps to follow.
For example, if your goal is to write a book, break it down into manageable tasks like outlining, drafting chapters, and editing.

Now, let's focus on daily habits.
Implement the "5 Day Weekly Action Plan”: dedicating 2-4 hours per day to your goal.
Find pockets of time to work on each goal (or project) consistently through out the week days.
TIP: use tools like planners or journals to track your progress and stay accountable. (more in this in a bit)

By attaching your goals to specific actions and timeframes, you bring them into reality.
Remember, this work isn't selfish—it's transformative.
When you pursue what lights you up, you contribute positively to the world. So, commit to showing up for your dreams every day. Whether using a planner or a journal, make intentional goal-setting and habit-building a part of your routine.
